Namasté!

Boasting a wealth of traditions, India is an Asian citadel for spiritual experiences. Here, you’ll find many sacred places of worship – from small shrines and temples to the most awe-inspiring structures that cradle the country’s spectacular heritage. It is also host to exotic wildlife, unique colourful markets and bazaars, and a delicious spicy cuisine that everyone should try.

Wondering what you’ll see and experience on a Wendy Wu tour? Let’s touch base in…

Delhi

Begin your journey sightseeing around historic and bustling Delhi. Make sure to visit the monumental and iconic Red Fort with it’s beautiful stone walls and domes – they are a sight to behold. You’ll also see the Jama Masjid, the biggest mosque in the country featuring grandiose architecture and decorations. Another major stop is the Chandni Chowk, a one of a kind market experience where you can buy pretty much everything – clothes, jewellery, and make sure you indulge in delicious, very affordable street food.

Agra

On reaching Agra, stand in awe before the Taj Mahal, which, according to UNESCO World Heritage Centre, is “the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage”. In 2007, it was declared as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, so you know you’re in for a one-of-a-kind visual and spiritual experience. And the Taj is not the only thing to see – ancient tombs and mausoleums with unique architecture and busy marketplaces dot the roads, while rickshaws, souvenir vendors, and the locals make the place alive.

Jaipur

Next, arrive in Rajasthan’s capital, the captivating city of Jaipur, to gaze upon the City Palace, home to the former royal family of India. Take a tour of the Jantar Mantar monument, home to a number of interesting ancient architectural astronomical instruments including the world’s largest stone sundial.

Return to base again in Delhi, before winging your way towards Saigon to take on Vietnam’s historic Mekong River for a luxury APT river cruise.

Xin chào!

Many of the world’s greatest rivers flow through Asia – and the Mekong River is one of the most majestic. Flowing through six countries, the river is home to a rich, biodiversity of animal and plant species, second only to the Amazon River.

A serene luxury river cruise will team up perfectly after the fast pace of India, as you slow down the pace and let the scenic river views and charming fishing villages take you into the vivid history, meaningful heritage, and diverse culture of Vietnam.

Let’s explore what you’ll experience.

Cai Be & Sa Dec

Explore the small, river town of Cai Be, where you’ll be greeted with a bustling floating market of over 400 boats selling a hodgepodge of fresh locally grown fruits, vegetables, and a myriad of other items. Discover the romantic colonial town of Sa Dec, famous for the setting of Marguerite Duras’ autobiographical novel, “The Lover”. Expect to see age-old mansions and architecturally interesting homes, complemented by Nguyen Hue Street’s delicious Vietnamese street food and taste sensations at riverside bazaars, cafés, and restaurants. Make sure to also take time out to catch a glimpse of Sa Dec’s colorful flower gardens in “Garden of Cochin-China”(Chinese Garden) – they are spectacular.

Tan Chau & Evergreen Island

Discover a quaint community nestled on the banks of the Delta – Tan Chau village is home to silk masterpieces, handwoven for generations and still being made in the traditional way. Their sophisticated fabrics are made from the best materials and undergo special processes, allowing them to have a perpetual color and sheen. Also catch a glimpse of rustic Vietnamese lifestyle on Evergreen Island, which is also known as Vinh Hoa by the locals. A floating village showcasing a true taste of rural Vietnam, and their simple lives.

Phnom Penh – capital of Cambodia

Featuring ancient architecture, religious, saffron robed monks, and beautiful temples, Phnom Penh is a crossroad of cultures where the past meets the present. It’s undeniable cultural and historical significance can be felt as you visit the golden Royal Palace, National Museum and the Silver Pagoda. You also have a chance to explore Cambodia’s troubled past with a moving excursion to the infamous Khmer Rouge Killing Fields, although sobering it provides a very compelling and commemorative reminder to the world not to repeat it.

On to Siem Reap

Your last stop onboard your river cruise, Siem Reap is gateway to Cambodia’s royal ruins of Angkor. A multitude of intricate stone buildings still inhabited and worshipped by saffron-robed monks and locals alike. It is one of the most visited places in Cambodia today and definitely not to be missed!
